Boom! Crash!

Thunder flashed across the sky, lighting up the normally dark night sky. Alfred, however, managed to block out the thunder as he looked around the house for you, wondering where you could be. "____?" The American called out, his eyes scanning over the room. "Where are you, bro?" His only reply was the soft tapping of rain against the roof.

Alfred stuffed his hands in the pockets of his bombe jacket, his lips pressed into a frown that was normally quite unusual for the cheerful American. Seriously, where the hell were you? If this was some kind of joke, it was kinda weak, especially for you.

The four times he'd checked the first floor proved you weren't there, so he decided to check upstairs. He climbed up the stairs, calling your name out as he did so, still recieving no reply. It was when he walked past your room that another bolt of thunder rumbled in the distance, a squeak of fear being voiced soon after it.

Heart pounding, Alfred poked his head inside your room. You were curled up in the cornor, shaking like a leaf. Alfred knew you well for your out going personality, and if he didn't know better, he would've thought it was some one else lurking in that cornor. "___?" The American questioned, inviting himself inside. "You ok, dude?"

___, noticing his presence, forced a shaking smile. "Oh, yeah. I'm just-." But you were cut off by another boom of thunder. You screamed, jumping to your feet and scrambling under the bed.

Alfred stared at the spot where your body had been, completly and utterly baffled. What was going on with you? You'd been fine a few hours ago, joking and laughing as usual. And now you were cowering under your bed. Alfred wasn't sure what to make of this.

"Dude?" His voice was unusually soft. "Are you sure your alright?"

"I-I'm fine N-Now g-go away!" The fear audible in your shaky voice surprised the American. So you were scared.

While Alfred wasn't exactly the brightest crayon in the box, it didn't take a genius to figure out what exactly was making you piss your pants. "Hey, ___?" Alfred got down on his knees. "You scared of thunder?" Coincidentaly, another boom of thunder rumbled right after those words left his lips.

"Yes!" You squeaked.

Alfred crawled under the bed, extending a hand. "C'mon dude, let's go." You simply stared at his hand for a moment, as though you were sure he'd pull it away. When he didn't, you sighed and took his hand. He led you out from under the bed and scooped you up bridal style. While normally you hated being treated like some damsel in distress, you didn't mind, just this once.

Alfred could feel your body trembling in his arms.

He set you down on the couch before moving onward to the kitchen. It took him a few minutes of digging through the cabnets, but Alfred managed to unearth a box of candles. Grabbing a lighter as well, he went back to the living room and set down the candles on the table.

Alfred made sure to light each candle before turning off the lights and wrapping his arms around you. Closing your eyes, you practically melted into the hug.

The candles he'd lit were one of those scented candles one could find at the mall, cinnamon bun scented, and the warmth radiating from Alfred's body was quite comforting, to say the least. Everything around you was so soothing now, it was like the thunder booming outside didn't exist. "Thanks, Alfred." You mumbled, your voice muffled by his clothes.

The light provided by the candles weren't very bright, but the glow flickering across Alfred's face just barely made his smile visible. "No problem, ____!" His grip on you tightened. "That's what the hero's here for, right?" You chuckled softly at this.

The thunder soon faded away, and the two of you silently listened to the soft tapping of rain until you both fell asleep in each other's arms.

I was in a fluffy mood last night, and it was raining, so this is where this story came from.

If you read over this story, you will spot few grammar issues. Instead of saying, "kinda", I recommend writing it as, "kind of". You also wrote, "Alfred stuffed his hands in the pocket of his BOMBE jacket..." I'm assuming that you had meant to spell "bomber", not "bombe". With the exception of the few grammar issues and spelling mishaps; this was a well thought out and nicely written piece of literature. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and giving out some critique on it. Your stories are very well written and I look forward to future pieces of literature and artwork.
