Despite Rebecca Black's song tarnishing it's good name, Friday really was the best day of the week. It meant movie night, just you, your boyfriend, Alfred, a horror flick, and endless bowls of popcorn.
"Alfred, popcorn's done!" You announced, marching into the living room, a bowl of hot, buttery popcorn in your hands.
"Awesome, dude!" He said, flashing you a nervous grin as you sat down next to him on the couch. "This time I'll get through the whole movie, just you watch ____!" Sure this made his determination clear, he grabbed the bowl and stuffed handfuls of popcorn into his mouth.
You rolled your eyes at his so called "enthusiasm"; you were 99.99999995% sure that, by the time the movie was over, he would be the one in your lap, holding onto you for dear life.
Rolling your eyes again, you grabbed the remote and pressed play. The screen was pitch black, until a zombie with a mangled, bloody face flashed across the screen, arms outstretched, as though trying to grab you both through the screen. Popcorn flew everywhere as Alfred spazzed and the bowl flew out of his hands. He didn't seem to notice, though, as he kept his horrified baby blue eyes glued to the screen. You sighed; what a waste of popcorn.
The scene changed and a girl and a boy were sitting in the park, eating lunch. Suddenly, a zombie came out of nowhere and grabbed the girl, sinking his teeth into her neck. Alfred leapt onto your lap, burying his head in your chest as blood splattered all over the screen. "Oh my god, bro, that's freakin' scary!" He squealed, his voice muffled from your clothes.
You couldn't help but smirk at the fact that you were right. "Looks like you couldn't take this movie either, hon."
The American smiled slightly into your chest. "I don't mind too much; it gives me an excuse to hug you."
Your smile widening, you ran your fingers through his blond hair. The sounds of screaming and incoherent groaning from the movie seemed to fade; all you could think about was the American in your arms.
It was times like these that you wished time would stand still.
